3. Popup and Sidebar Differences

Prompt Locker Pro 3.0 includes two synchronized workspaces designed for different styles of work.

New in 3.0:

CTRL + Select to Replace allows instant replacement of selected text with the most recent clipboard entry.
Universal Highlight-to-Copy automatically captures highlighted text without manual copy.
Refactored UI density makes stacks visually smaller than prompt cards, improving scan speed in both views.
View filtering is now available in the Sidebar, Popup menus, and context menus to reduce noise in large libraries.
Prompt Locker Pro includes two synchronized workspaces designed for different styles of work.
Double-Click to Paste now works consistently across both the Popup and Sidebar.

Debugging Paste enables paste functionality in restrictive environments when standard insertion fails.

Drag Highlighted Text to Save

Highlight any text on any website, platform, or document, then drag the selection into the popup or sidebar.

Prompt Locker Pro automatically creates a new prompt card and titles it using the first line of the text.

Saving Multiple Text Items

Creating Cards and Groups Using Drag and Drop
When you drag content into the workspace:
A single selection creates one card
Multiple entries create a group or folder
CSV and structured files import as full collections
This makes building a workspace effortless and intuitive.

5. Drag and Drop

Drag-and-drop behavior has been expanded for speed and control.

New in 3.0:

Multi-select drag: Hold CTRL to drag multiple cards or stacks at once.
Frozen tooltip dragging is more stable for deep folder structures.
Dragging stacks respects enabled/disabled (muted) states in templates.

Dragging Cards Into Text Fields

Drag any prompt card from the popup or sidebar to a text field on any supported website.

Prompt Locker Pro inserts the content at the correct cursor position using the Universal Text Insertion Engine (UTIE+).

Dragging Entire Folders

You can drag a folder to paste the combined content of all prompts inside it. This is powerful for:

chapters
documentation sets
product descriptions
long emails
training data
message bundles
All items are pasted in order.

Dragging from Nested Folders

Hovering over folders shows expandable tooltips.

You can drag items out of deep folder structures without opening them manually.

This makes navigation extremely fast.

Dragging from Frozen Tooltips

Hold Control to freeze tooltips in place and drag items out safely, even from deeply nested directories.

6. Folders and Organization

Organization tools are now workflow-aware.

New in 3.0:

Multi-select move, reorder, and delete using CTRL.
Favorites system allows up to five curated, reusable workflows.
Anchoring lets prompts or stacks be duplicated in the main library and the Basement.
View filters apply independently to the main library, Basement, and quick menus.
Stack density reduction allows more folders to be visible without scrolling.

Creating Folders

Folders help keep your workspace clean and structured. Create folders for topics, projects, chapters, work flows, customer responses, documentation, templates, or research.

Nested Folders

Prompt Locker Pro supports unlimited levels of nested folders.

Build deep, structured systems such as:

Novel > Act > Chapter > Scene

Folder Tooltips

Hovering over a folder opens a preview containing its contents.

You can inspect and drag from these previews without manually opening folders.

Moving and Organizing Items

Drag any card or folder into another folder, reorder items inside folders, or restructure your content anytime.

The organization system is designed to adapt to your workflow.

7. Search and Quick Menus

Search is now execution-aware and workflow-aware.

New in 3.0:

Search results respect template locking and muted sections.
Filtered views persist while searching.
Quick menus support filter views.

Slash Menu Search

Press the slash key ( / ) inside any text field to open the Quick Menu.

Begin typing to filter your saved prompts instantly.

This eliminates switching windows or breaking workflow.

Alt-Click Quick Menu

Alt-click inside a text field to open the Quick Menu at your cursor location.

This keeps you focused and lets you insert content without navigating away.

Fast Filtering

As you type, results update instantly.

You can drag items from the Quick Menu or click to paste if Auto-Paste is turned on.

You can drag prompts from the Quick Menu into:

8. Clipboard History

Clipboard interaction is now deeply integrated into workflows.

New in 3.0:

Double-click to paste from clipboard history.
CTRL + select replace directly from clipboard entries.
Clipboard items can be staged into the Hopper before permanent storage.

Clipboard Overview

Prompt Locker Pro remembers your last 2,000 clipboard items.

This extended history prevents loss of important copied text and lets you revisit previous ideas or data quickly.

Dragging from Clipboard

Clipboard entries behave like prompts. You can drag them into text fields or folders as needed.

Saving Clipboard Items Permanently

Drag clipboard items into the sidebar to turn them into permanent prompts.

This is ideal for keeping important notes that you copied earlier but didn’t save.

Clipboard Search

Search for old clipboard items using the same menu system. This makes recovering lost text effortless.

9. Refresh All Tabs

Refresh All Tabs updates every open popup, sidebar, and menu across your browser.

This is useful after major changes such as:
Importing large JSON files
Reordering or restructuring folders
Modifying preferences
Creating new tooltips or prompt groups
It ensures every browser tab stays perfectly synchronized.

10. Clean Slate Mode

Clean Slate is now template-aware.

New in 3.0:

Templates and their version histories are handled as atomic units.
Favorites, Basement, and Hopper states can be selectively preserved or removed.
Prevents partial deletion that could break template references.

Before using Clean Slate, you can export your prompt library and settings for quick recovery later.

Clean Slate permanently deletes prompts and folders based on the option you choose.

This tool is intended for:

Clearing large libraries quickly
Resetting your workspace
Removing groups of items in one action

Deleted items cannot be recovered from within the app, you must import saved data.

You can also delete individual prompts or folders at any time using trash icons or drag-to-delete.

11. Tooltip Enhancements and Freeze Control

Hover Tooltips

When you hover over a folder, a tooltip preview appears showing its full contents.

This allows you to browse or retrieve items quickly without opening the folder.

Tooltip Freeze (CTRL)

Holding the Control key while hovering to freeze a tooltip allows:

deep navigation
dragging items from nested levels
comparing two folders at once
extended organization workflows

Dragging from Frozen Tooltips

Frozen tooltips let you drag individual cards, entire folders, or nested content without collapsing the preview.

This creates a smooth workflow for large, complex prompt libraries.

12. Template System (New 3.0 Feature)

Prompt Locker Pro 3.0 introduces a fully governed Template System.

Key capabilities:

Templates contain unlimited cards and nested stacks.
Tokenized placeholders define exactly what users can edit.
Templates are locked during execution.
Every structural change creates a new version.
Templates track run count, separate from edits.

Muted cards or stacks are excluded from execution and placeholder resolution.

13. Template Runner (New 3.0 Feature)

Templates are executed in a dedicated environment.

Static text is locked.

Up to 5 active favorites at a time.

17. Prompt Builder (New 3.0 Feature)

Prompt Builder is the authoring and governance environment for structured content in Prompt Locker Pro 3.0.

It separates creation from execution to ensure consistency, version safety, and controlled reuse.

Key capabilities:

Create and edit prompts, stacks, and templates in a dedicated workspace.
Template Mode enforces structure, allowing only governed edits.
Insert tokenized placeholders that define exactly what data can be provided at runtime.
Enable or mute individual cards or nested stacks to support controlled experimentation.
All edits made in Prompt Builder are fully versioned.
Templates can only be created from Prompt Builder, never inline, preventing accidental or untracked changes.
